Footwear

Wear comfortable clothing and shoes for dancing and think about investing in some dance shoes for the future. Flat shoes are comfy but heels will put your weight forward onto the balls of your feet, which will assist your dancing and make your turns easier.

At Salsafeet we have a variety of ladies dance shoes available, from glittering diamante-studded at £45 down to £25 for economical practice dance shoes for classes.

Ladies Latin Dance Shoes
Ladies, dance shoes make you look great on the dance floor.
The first thing you will notice about real dance shoes are that they are so light they feel like they weigh nothing at all when on your feet compared to your day shoes. The next thing is they not only make your legs look fantastic but by putting your weight forward onto your toes this improves your dancing instantly.
We know you like comfort so maybe think flat shoes are the way to go but dancing on your heels makes you look flat footed and cumbersome in your steps and turns.
Ladies dance shoes are lightweight, comfortable, flexible, made of real suede and/or leather, and have built-in extra cushioning in the sole. They give your foot more freedom of movement than regular shoes while keeping the heel “locked” in place. They have leather/suede soles to give you just the right amount of slip-and-grip on the dance floor while allowing your foot to pivot freely (to avoid knee damage).

Your dance shoes should feel like a glove to your foot. You do NOT want any wriggle room in your dance shoes. They will stretch a bit once you begin using them. This snug fit allows your foot to connect better with the floor, giving you more control of your movement, balance, spins and will significantly reduce your fear of slipping and falling. You will wonder why you didn’t make the investment sooner once you experience the difference.

Typically, your dance shoe size will be the same as your street shoe size. If your foot is narrow, you should go down 1/2 a size. If your foot is wider you should go up 1/2 a size from your regular street shoe. Remember, you want them to be snug, but not painful.

Mens Latin Dance Shoes

Guys, think about investing in some dance shoes. They are lightweight and improve your footwork immensely. They are available in a range of styles, from sneakers to ballroom.

CLASSES/PRIVATE LESSONS

Classes are Salsa, LA style on 1 and Bachata with a fusion of Dominican, Spanish and Italian styles.

You will learn to dance with Salsafeet with an emphasis on social dancing while you make new friends and have fun while you keep fit.

Beginners Class
Improvers/Intermediate Class

No experience necessary as these are Beginners classes lasting 10 weeks, starting with the basic steps but it will surprise you how quickly you will advance though our expert tuition.

Private dancing lessons are available by arrangement. Individuals or couples, from Beginners to Advanced. We teach Salsa, Bachata and Bachatango.

The varying styles of salsa taught take their African roots to Latino influences from Cuba, Puerto Rica and Columbia chiefly, thrown in with modern western influences to produce an enjoyable melting pot of Salsa dance.

Salsa is a language interpreted through dance. As there are many languages, so too are there many styles of salsa. Within each style there are “dialects” or various interpretations or small differences you will experience as you become more proficient.

You are encouraged to embrace these differences and find what best works for you in your exploration of the international language of salsa.

What do all great salsa dancers have in common?

Perfect timing and amazing interpretation of the music!

Their secret? Understanding of Salsa music.

We all love the moves and combinations of Salsa but before trying all the fancy moves make sure you can execute the simple moves and technicalities to the correct timing.
