Be prepared for your Salsa and Bachata classes

Registration:

Please arrive in time for class, we only have the venue for a specific time period.

Registering online makes it easier for all and thanks for doing so, but there

may be some on the night who don’t have access to do so.

Hygiene:

Personal Hygiene is essential when dancing. Going straight from work is usually a bad

idea unless having access to shower facilities. Use deodorant or anti-persperant. Don’t

wear your “smoking jacket” before class and refrain from heavy meals and excessive

drinking before class. Taking some mints, rather than chewing gum freshens your breath.

Clothing:

Wear comfortable clothing, you may have to take off a layer if you get too hot.

Shoes:

You can wear flat shoes, but shoes with a heel work best for the ladies, keeping

you on the balls of your feet, but not too high. If you are considering buying

dance shoes we can advise you what to look for.

Drinks:

Stay hydrated. Drinks are available from the bar before class (suggest arriving

earlier if you are buying drinks) as we like to support the venue if we can; but

bring some water if you like.

Nervous:

Don’t be; everyone else is in the same boat. The first step is literally the hardest.

In fact, by registering and coming to class you have already done the hard bit.

We will have you dancing and laughing in minutes; hopefully the

first positive dance experience of many.

Partners:

Salsa, Bachata and Merengue are partner dances but if you don’t have a partner

we change partners regularly in class. If you are a couple and wish to dance together

without changing partners that is perfectly fine too. We will ask at the beginning of class.

It is generally accepted that people learn faster with different partners but certainly

NO pressure involved to compel you. We almost always have more ladies than men,

so some ladies volunteer to take turns leading (no pressure here, if you don’t wish to

lead, just say so).

Dancing:

The dances aren’t difficult once you know the techniques; they only look difficult until you know the steps.

In the beginning some steps might seem daunting to master but once muscle memory

kicks in, and the brain and feet are communicating they will be much easier (like

riding a bike). For some, this happens really quickly but don’t be discouraged if

you aren’t out the blocks like a racehorse; your dancing is a journey, not a sprint.

Your Safety:

The dancing is not too frenetic but if at any time you wish to take a breather and

sit down for a few minutes, there is no shame in doing so. Seasoned dancers dance all

night, but they are used to it.

Insurance:

Salsafeet is fully covered for public liability.

Refunds & Cancellations

All bookings for courses and classes are non-refundable.

Our courses take place on specific dates and run subject to minimum participant numbers. Once a booking is confirmed, venue and instructor costs are committed, and places cannot be resold at short notice. For this reason, we are unable to offer refunds for cancellations, late cancellations, or non-attendance for any reason.

If you are unable to attend, we are happy to offer one of the following alternatives:

  • Your booking may be transferred to another course or class, subject to availability
  • Transfers are valid for up to 12 months from the original booking date
  • Alternatively, the booking value may be issued as gift vouchers, which may be used by or transferred to someone else

Cancellations made close to the course start time do not qualify for a refund under any circumstances.

Minimum Numbers
All courses are subject to minimum participant numbers. If minimum numbers are not met, we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the course. In such cases, participants will be offered a transfer to a future course or a full refund.

By completing a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this cancellation and refund policy.

So, well done if you read all that 😉 Above all, have fun, bring your friends, get them

signed up and we look forward to seeing you in class.
